Langleys Announces New Head of Family Law Unit

Leading law firm, Langleys, has appointed Mark Day as head of the firm's Family Unit, effective from April 2008. Mark joins Langleys from Gosschalks in Hull where he was made Partner in 2002.
 
In his previous role at Gosschalks Mark focussed on family law work with a particular emphasis on the financial aspects of divorce. His remit at Langleys will be to grow the range of family work undertaken in this area.

Andrew Fearn, Partner and head of Private Law at Langleys comments: "Mark will be a very valuable addition to the family team at Langleys.  He has a great deal of experience in family law matters, and I am sure he will help us maintain our excellent client service track record."
 
Commenting on his appointment Mark says: "I chose Langleys because of the strength and reputation of the family team and its position as a leading firm in the region. I am very much looking forward to working with and further strengthening the York team."

Mark was involved with the Family Justice Council in Hull working particularly with a committee trying to combat potential problems for children from households experiencing domestic violence. In addition he was part of the Hull Domestic Violence Forum.
 
Mark is on the Register of Accredited Experts having passed exams with Solicitors Family Law Association in Finance and Private law children cases.  He is also a qualified Mediator and a committee member for Resolution (previously Solicitors Family Law Association). Resolution is a large national organisation of over 5000 family lawyers specialising in family work.
