The Unit

The health and safety team has extensive experience of work related criminal investigations by both the HSE and the police. We regularly advise businesses and individuals being investigated or prosecuted for breach of health and safety offences and manslaughter across a variety of industries including construction, manufacturing, engineering and agriculture.

Early Involvement

Our approach is to become involved at a very early stage with a view to avoiding prosecution, or if not possible, minimising the consequences.

Services

We liaise closely with our clients to provide support and assistance in the event of an intended prosecution. We provide representation at interview under caution and offer assistance with any post-accident investigation. Should court proceedings be initiated, we provide tactical advice and representation at each stage of the process.

We are also able to provide practical guidance on risk management issues to ensure that the client complies with its statutory obligations and any formal notices which may be issued by the HSE.
