The practice will advise National Express on new procedures to speed up the process of pursuing passengers without valid tickets and, where necessary, taking them to Court.

 

Jonathan Mortimer, Head of Langleys Commercial Dispute Resolution Unit in York said:- "National Express delivers a quality service to passengers. The level of service is dependant entirely on the revenue which they receive from ticket sales. Unfortunately, there are some passengers who do not pay for their journeys to the additional cost of proper fare paying passengers. We are pleased to be instructed to pursue a policy of making sure that the cost of train travel is fairly met by all travellers".
