York Solicitor’s Parents Given Freedom of Richmond

16/12/2011
The parents of York solicitor Tim Cross have jointly received the Freedom of the Town in a ceremony in Richmond – the first time Richmond Town Council has given the honour jointly.

Roy and Pam Cross have lived in Richmond for over 60 years. During that time they have both been Mayor of Richmond and Town and District Councillors.

Their son, Tim Cross, is a partner and head of the Real Estate Unit at Langleys Solicitors LLP. He said:

“I’m very proud that my parents’ dedication to Richmond has been recognised. They have founded, chaired and supported too many local organisations to name including the Friends of Friary Hospital and they have both been governors of Richmond School.

“They continue to run groups and raise money today. It is estimated that they have helped raise nearly £1 million in this time for local causes. This was alongside both working full time and raising a family. It’s a great honour for them and our family.”
