The retail chain which combines quality and price was supported in the deal to lease the shop on The Crescent in March by York-based Langleys Solicitors LLP. This is the first shop the company has opened in the Eastern region.
W Boyes & Co was launched in 1881 when William Boyes opened a small store in Eastborough, Scarborough selling odd lots and remnants from merchants. The business began to grow in 1910 and there are now over 40 stores spanning Yorkshire, the North East, Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire & Leicestershire.
Andrew Boyes, managing director of W Boyes & Co, said: “We’re keen to increase our representation within the area and we’re delighted to be able to expand into new areas, despite the economic climate. The team at Langleys have been brilliant in helping us to secure the deal around the lease for the March store.”
“We’re continually looking to expand our reach throughout Yorkshire, the Midlands and beyond and hope suitable opportunities will continue to present themselves.”
Tim Cross, Real Estate partner at Langleys, commented: “It’s been fantastic to work with a great Yorkshire brand and help the company to expand into Cambridgeshire. We hope to continue to work with W Boyes & Co in the future as the firm continues to look for new retail spaces across the country.”
