Langleys Dig for York as Part of Community Initiative

26/10/2011
Solicitors in York have been supporting their local neighbourhood by helping to create community gardens.

Fifteen employees from Langleys joined a team of over 200 volunteers from across the city as part of York Cares Big Community Challenge. The aim was to build 24 community gardens for local families so that they can grow their own fruit and vegetables.

Under the guidance of Miller Construction with help from BTCV, the volunteers from Langleys helped to create new paths, lay a water pipe, build a pergola and raised beds for the community garden at Westfield Primary School in Acomb.

Sally Cottam of Langleys said: “As always with these community projects everyone at Langleys is more than happy to swap our suits for overalls and get stuck in.

“The team did an excellent job digging a trench for a water pipe to sit in and it’s exciting to see that so many of these community gardens have been created after just a few days of hard work.”
