The law firm organises the annual charity quiz inviting professionals and businesses across the region to put their wits to the test in order to raise funds for their charity of choice. The quiz, now in its seventh year, is organised by trainee solicitors at the Lincoln office. Previous charities that have benefited from the event include Headway and The Prince’s Trust.
David Wood, partner at Langleys, presented a cheque to Liz Thornton, the East Midland’s Area Fundraising Manager for the Alzheimer’s Society.
David said: “Langleys’ Annual Quiz is a light-hearted and entertaining evening which is well supported by the Lincolnshire business and professional community. We are delighted to have raised £1,285.40 for the Alzheimer’s Society to help with its valuable work helping the sufferers, their families and their carers with this destructive and life changing disease.”
The charity was chosen because the private client team at Langleys routinely acts for people with Alzheimer’s, advising in relation to Lasting Powers of Attorney, Wills and property protection trusts.
David added: “Personally, I am delighted that the Alzheimer’s Society was chosen to benefit from Langleys’ 2010 Charity Quiz and I congratulate the Alzheimer’s Society and all of their people for their outstanding efforts to make a difference to the lives of people with Alzheimer’s and those around them. I should also like to publicly thank all of those local businesses who contributed prizes for the raffle and particularly Lincoln Audi who contributed an Audi Cabriolet for the weekend as first prize."
