Langleys Legal Tips for Dispute Resolution

14/01/2011
Law firm Langleys is hosting a mock trial to provide Scarborough’s business leaders with essential legal tips for dispute resolution on Thursday 10 February.

The event is designed to give business owners in the region the opportunity to witness the mock trial of two claims that address a range  of legal issues including debt collection and how to maximise the prospects of avoiding the need to get to court at all.

Rob Ripley, Head of Dispute Resolution at Langleys, who will be the judge at the mock trial, said: “Almost all businesses will face litigation at some stage we hope to give something of an insight (albeit a relatively light-hearted one) into the process.”

Langleys’ partner Graeme Stenson and solicitors James Teagle and Sarah Valentine will be addressing issues including the supply of defective goods, calculation of losses, director’s duties,  authority to bind a company to a contract and liquidity problems.

Registration and breakfast is at 8am with introduction, cases and cross-examination commencing at 8:30am.

The trial will take place at Unit 17 Manor Court, Scarborough Business Park. To book your free place call Hannah Cooke on 01904 683118.
