The win follows the firm’s recent appointment as a ‘Driving for Better Business’ Champion by leading forum RoadSafe, a project spearheaded by Jeremy Scott, partner at the firm who is committed to promoting work-related road safety to businesses across the Yorkshire region.
The firm, which operates a large ‘grey’ fleet used by more than 150 of its employees, was recognised for its first class safety record and its leadership with the implementation of its best practice driving for work policy, as well as its work helping other businesses improve the safety of their fleets.
Speaking of the win, Jeremy said: “Langleys is proud and delighted to receive the Fleet Safety Award (Small Fleet) in the 2010 Honours. We take our responsibilities in managing occupational road risk seriously as the safety of our staff and members of the public is of paramount importance.
As a full service legal firm with specialist capability in advising businesses upon both health and safety and road traffic legislation, Langleys recognises the importance of putting our own systems in order and developing a culture of responsibility for safety internally.”
Jeremy added: “As a result, we are better able to advise our clients on how best to manage their own occupational road risk. To be recognised for our contribution in managing such risks is important in helping to deliver awareness on issues which no employer should be ignoring."
The Fleet World Honours acknowledges fleets, van manufacturers and service organisations that have achieved the highest possible level of excellence in their sector, and is judged by a panel of industry experts. The 2010 judging panel was chaired by Steve Moody, editor of Fleet World, and included Ken Rogers, Natalie Wallis, John Kendall and Ross Durkin from the Fleet World editorial team.
