Home Cooks Open First Restaurant

02/12/2011
Two passionate home cooks have opened their first restaurant in Flamborough.

Jonathan and Karen Braithwaite, who are originally from Scarborough, have realised their dream by launching the Tree restaurant on Chapel Street.

They were helped in their quest to buy premises for the restaurant by the Real Estate team at Langleys solicitors in York.

The property, which was formerly a café bar, has been transformed by Karen into an intimate family dining destination.

Karen has decided to go it alone and return to her roots following a career working in restaurants in York. She said: “I’ve spent much of my working life helping to grow and expand restaurants for other people. Through these experiences I’ve gained a raft of knowledge and understanding of the industry, and decided that I wanted to try and be my own boss.”

“The aim of the restaurant is to provide a home from home. All the meals are based on great home made recipes and everything is freshly made. It’s very much the food I enjoy but I hope plenty of people will come along and love it as well.”

Emma Warner, Real Estate Partner at Langleys, said: “It’s fantastic to support clients like Karen and Jonathan who have a vision and want to try something new. We’re pleased we were able to help them secure these premises and get them started on what I’m sure will be a road to success.”

The restaurant is open from 10am-3pm and 5.30pm-9pm daily. For further details please call 01262 850495.
