The Recruitment Process

What are we looking for?

We are looking for bright, enthusiastic candidates who have drive, determination and perseverance. You should have commercial awareness and display a real interest in law. Candidates need to have good interpersonal skills, be effective at communicating and be able to work as part of a team as well as be comfortable at working on their own. They should also be organised, with an ability to plan and prioritise their own workload. A flair for, or interest in, marketing is also welcomed.

We also look for candidates who have gained skills and experience in other ways such as through alternative careers, work experience placements, part-time jobs, voluntary work and through hobbies and interests.

Minimum requirements: 2.1 degree is preferable and A, B, B at A-Levels.  However, we look at the whole picture and take everything into consideration, including each candidate's skills, experience and personality. We welcome applications from both law and non-law candidates.

Training Contract Applications Timescales

We recruit approximately 18 months in advance of the commencement of your training contract with us. The deadline for applications is the end of December 2010 for a training contract that starts in September 2012. Short listed applicants will be invited to a first interview which is usually conducted by HR. This initial interview is reasonably general, an opportunity for us to find out more about you, your interests and understand what you are looking for from your Training Contract. It also gives you the chance to find out whether we are the right firm for you.  A second interview will be held for all successful candidates and this interview will be more formal. You may be asked to do a presentation or carry out a practical exercise. Offers are made during March and contact days are then held between the period of the candidate being offered a place and starting their training contract in September the following year.
