Carbon Neutral Policy

Langleys recognises its environmental responsibility and is committed to reducing carbon emissions. In 2004, we commissioned Olympic House, a new office building in Lincoln, which was designed to reduce impact on the environment.  It was constructed re-using the steel frame and roof of the site's previous building.  To reduce energy wastage the design incorporated measures to reduce solar glare, an ozone friendly air- conditioning system and a lighting system controlled by movement sensors.  Langleys are actively seeking a site in order to carry out a similar project to re-house their York branch.

We purchase paper that utilises fibre certified by the FSC and consistently work towards maximizing the use of environmentally friendly products.  We utilise duplex printing on copiers, shared office printers and discourage unnecessary printing to help reduce the volume of paper consumed, wherever possible.

Langleys is involved in a number of recycling schemes (including recycled PC's, toner cartridges, mobile phones and shredded paper) and the topic of reducing our environmental footprint remains on our agenda at all times with our employees constantly involved in coming up with ideas on how we can improve our impact.

Whilst we practice from two offices, we encourage reducing petrol consumption through the use of our video link facility and shared journeys.
